Menopause Awareness For Leaders

Learn the skills and techniques required to have supportive conversations with individuals in the team about peri-menopause and menopause and the impact of this transition on their work and life.

Only a small number of organisations in the UK have policies in place to support those transitioning through menopause, and as a result, many individuals are leaving their jobs because they feel unable to talk about their experiences and health and how this is affecting their work.

This online course focuses on giving managers the skills and techniques needed to have supportive conversations with individuals in the team about peri-menopause and menopause and the impact of this transition on their work and life. It enables managers to think about how they can support individuals, maximising the retention of key skills and experience in the organisation, and creating a positive, inclusive working environment.

We would highly recomend you first attend the ‘Introduction to Menopause Awareness’ F2F course, or complete it digitally before beginning this course.

How is this course delivered?

We hate boring learning as much as learners do. Digital learning should be dramatically different and packed full of fun! Our missing is to deliver exciting digital training that’s fun, engaging and delivers long term measurable results. 

This course will take you between 2 – 2 1/2 hours to complete and you can work through it at your own pace with resources, videos, articles case studies and other materials available 24/7 to inform yourself and your work colleagues

What is it?

In this course, our menopause awareness coach, Laura Shuckburgh, will guide and support you through your journey into menopause in the workplace and help to empower you with strategies and tips to support your colleagues, direct line management and teams.

The course is informative, non-judgemental, and at times might feel challenging, but will enable managers and leaders to effect positive cultural change

What will I do on the course?

You will work through at your own pace the resources, videos, articles case studies and other materials to inform yourself and for your work colleagues on why menopause is an important subject, how it’s important to dispel any myths and essential to get facts right.

The course is completely online with access at any time and has many takeaway resources for you to adapt or share within your workplace.

What are the learning outcomes?

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Recognise the personal barriers that may be preventing them from engaging in conversations with team members or colleagues that they think may be experiencing peri-menopausal / menopausal challenges and identify how to overcome these.
  • Identify the skills and behaviours required to confidently engage in a supportive conversation with an individual experiencing peri-menopausal / menopausal symptoms
  • Describe how, in their role as a leader, they can contribute to creating a supportive, open work environment and culture which enables individuals experiencing perimenopause / menopause to be their best selves at work.
