How is this course delivered
Virtual learning – this is where a classroom based experience is delivered online, via our ted Learning Hub.  Instead of a full day in the classroom, we break the session down into bite-size interactions.  Learners can join from any location and participate in the training experience.  Our virtual classroom features break out rooms, drama-based learning with our actors & discussions.
 We limit time in this environment to around 40-minute sessions to maintain learner engagement.

What is it?
This is an interactive session that blends theory with live actor scenarios, discussions and practical activities.
You will learn how to carry out interviews in a professional, legally compliant manner, aligned to your organisation’s own policies and culture, ensuring a positive candidate experience and a successful appointment for your team.

What will I do on the programme?
Through lots of practical and interactive activities, you’ll explore which approaches are effective in different situations and what works best for you.
Working with our actors, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your awareness of both your own influencing style and the factors that motivate others, supporting you to develop a flexible approach and become a successful influencer.

What are the learning outcomes ?
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain the purpose of interviewing and the part it plays in identifying the best person for the job
- Appreciate the potentially negative consequences of not following an agreed recruitment and interview process
- Prepare for and conduct a structured and professional interview, including how to develop appropriate questions to identify competence.
- Explain the importance of conducting interviews which are non-discriminatory in line with the Equality Act 2010.
- Recognise how unconscious bias can impact decision-making in the recruitment process.
- Identify and demonstrate the skills required to conduct a fair, professional and effective interview, including the provision of evidence-based feedback post-interview.
