People’s experience of the menopause can vary dramatically, and it can have a huge impact on work, relationships and self-esteem. Understanding the menopause, whether you are personally experiencing it or not, is important to enable us to support each other and create an inclusive working environment.

This course will give you a good understanding of what the menopause is, how it can affect people, and what you can personally do to support those experiencing it.
What will I do on the course?
Through watching videos, and completing interactive activities, you’ll explore what the menopause is, and feel more comfortable to have conversations about it with others.Â
What are the learning outcomes?
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe some of the variety of physical and emotional symptoms, both visible and invisible, of perimenopause.
- Identify typical examples of both helpful and unhelpful language and behaviours used when referring to perimenopause / menopause.
- Promote a supportive working culture where the menopause is not a taboo subject, and female colleagues feel comfortable to discuss their health if they want to.
